Cyber Bullying: JayJay Okocha speaks in defence of his nephew, Alex Iwobi

  • In a move reminiscent of a lion defending its pride, the football maestro, JayJay Okocha, has stepped into the fray, has taken a stand to back up his nephew, football star Alex Iwobi against critics.
  • Iwobi has been enduring a storm of cyberbullying since the Super Eagles fell short in their AFCON final showdown against Ivory Coast.

Super Eagles Legendary Footballer, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, has taken to the digital pitch of Instagram to rally behind his nephew, Alex Iwobi, who faced a barrage of online bullying following the Nigerian Super Eagles’ defeat to Ivory Coast in the AFCON finals.

A torrent of Nigerians flooded the player’s page, hurling insults and laying blame at his feet for the loss.

In response to the onslaught of cyberbullying, Iwobi made the strategic move to clear his Instagram page of all photos and videos.

‘’I pray for my country Nigeria and the people that can only hate and see nothing good in others, when effort counts for nothing, treat people the way you want them to treat you, all we have is this life is each other, we love you @alexanderiwobi and we keep going no matter what they say, the lord is good all the time and we trust that his will be done in our lives amen”

In other news, Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun popularly known as AY has berated Nigerians for dragging Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi over the loss at the Africa Cup of Nations Final (AFCON).

AY dragged them for trolling the footballer. He insisted that those who were angry with Iwobi’s performance were also failures.

According to him, “It does not make any sense at all. He came back home with the fullest intention to serve his father’s land. Some of you have failed in your various responsibilities in life. Begging money on line, expecting others to take care of you is a failure. Your inability to take care of yourself at Iwobi’s age is a failure. Coming online and trolling him is also a failure. If una get work una no go get all the time. Fail Fail.”
