Controversial TikToker DJ Chicken has issued a public apology to Grammy Award-winning artist Wizkid after facing severe backlash for his insensitive remarks.
The controversy began when DJ Chicken made derogatory comments about Wizkid, suggesting that the singer would soon join his late mother in the grave.
DJ Chicken went on to label Wizkid a “finished artist” and accused him of non-payment, sparking outrage among fans and particularly the Wizkid FC.
The social media storm intensified as Wizkid’s fans mobilized to report DJ Chicken’s TikTok account, resulting in the suspension of his main page and a subsequent new account opened shortly afterward.
Facing mounting pressure and consequences for his actions, DJ Chicken made a U-turn and issued a public apology directed at Wizkid.
In his apology, he expressed regret for his insensitive comments and urged Wizkid to forgive him, emphasizing that it was all in good spirits from his side.
“Machala, no vex; na love dey there. My fans, you’re ruining my mood, you all will be unfortunate. I am not fighting with Wizkid; can I even dare? We are all in the industry. You are reporting my account. I am your joy giver and I can take away that joy. What’s your own?” DJ Chicken said in his apology.
DJ Chicken concluded his apology by playing one of Wizkid’s songs, despite having previously ridiculed the singer’s work as subpar.
