Nigerian singer Davido‘s logistics manager, Israel DMW, has come forward to defend his boss against the relentless mockery circulating on social media following his loss at the Grammy Awards.
Davido had been nominated for three Grammy Awards but did not win any award. This outcome prompted scorn and ridicule from some Nigerians.
Israel DMW, however, has taken a stand in support of the Afrobeat star, condemning those who are making fun of Davido for not winning a Grammy.
He praised his boss and admonished those who chose to mock him. He asserted that individuals who deride Davido are ultimately deriding themselves.
Israel DMW emphasized that Davido’s name still garnered significant attention and was used for publicity, regardless of the outcome of the awards ceremony.
Addressing the trolls, Israel DMW urged them to reflect on their own lives and consider whether they could surpass Davido’s achievements in the next two decades.
He questioned the legitimacy of past Grammy awardees, implying that many of them may not have truly deserved the accolades they received.
In his words;
“You’re completely mocking urself, if you think you’re mocking oga, in an already well programmed event, where oga’s name had to even been used to be used as publicity. Look at ur life in the nest 20 years, if you’ will be better than oga, in any way. Look at the life of some past awardee, if they ever merited it.”
